Eureka Montana

EUREKA, MONTANA: For someone who has traveled the
world over, three-time British Open champion and threetime
Masters champion, Nick Faldo, was duly impressed
on his first visit to The Wilderness Club in northwestern
Montana
. “It is big and bold,” said Faldo of the setting
for his new golf course. “The scale of everything is
impressive. From the dramatic 360-degree views, the
mountain and forest lines, the flashes of blue sky and
white clouds, The Wilderness Club is beautiful.”
Big Sky Country has that kind of effect on people.
THE MONTANA MYSTIQUE
From its majestic mountains to the postcard beauty of its
wide open spaces, Montana has inspired legions of outdoor
enthusiasts to explore its sparsely populated lands and get
a big dose of nature at its unexploited best. The state is
blessed with an over abundance of natural treasures. It is
home to the Rocky Mountains, Glacier National Park,
Blackfoot River, the National Bison Range, the majority of
entrances to Yellowstone National Park and much more.
This inspiring natural setting is precisely what led The
Norcal Group to select this land for the 545 acres of
rolling meadows and stands of ponderosa pines that
comprise the family-oriented golf community retreat of
The Wilderness Club.
“The outdoors will be central to our membership programs,”
says Norcal’s Barry Cole, president of Wilderness
Development, LLC. “It is not uncommon to see moose,
elk, deer, and wild turkeys on
property. Occasionally we even
spot a black bear.”
President and CEO Hardy
Nielsen founded the Norcal
Group, based in Calgary,
Canada, in 1968 to develop and
manage commercial, industrial
and resort properties in the
United States and Canada. They own and operate
1.2 million square feet of industrial space and
300,000 square feet of office space in Canada and
the United States.
“Our team brings almost four decades of
development experience to the table,” says Cole.
HOMES IN THE HEART OF ADVENTURE
Surrounded by the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, set
close to salmon and trout-rich Lake Koocanusa and
bounded by vast acres of virgin forest, The Wilderness
Club offers 272 homesites (1/3 acre to 2 acres with golf,
mountain, and lake views) priced from $250,000, and 47
luxury cabins from $700,000.
While the Club’s centerpiece is the Nick Faldo championship
golf course, the full slate of amenities serve up
all of the great outdoors in style.
Overlooking on-site Wilderness Lake will be the Hart
Howerton-designed village center that will feature the
golf clubhouse with formal and
casual dining, a lounge area,
pro shop, and members’ locker
rooms; the fitness and spa facilities;
swimming pools and
cabanas close by. Also on the
lakeshore will
be The Canoe Club.
The Wilderness Club was
designed as a place where families can retreat
together year after year to live the authentic
Montana lifestyle, while creating lifelong memories
to share and cherish.
A YEAR ‘ROUND WILDERNESS
RETREAT
For those looking to get away from it all, you would be
hard pressed to find a location that does the job better
than The Wilderness Club.
Situated near Eureka (pop. 1,017), Montana, just eight
miles from the Canadian border, the community enjoys a
true wilderness setting. This is the real deal. And yet
despite the remote location, it is surprisingly accessible.
Delta, Northwest, and Horizon fly into Kalispell
Airport, a 90-minute drive from the Club. Calgary,
Canada is a three and one-half hour drive. For those with
the means, a private airport with a 4,300-foot runway is
within minutes. (continued)
